INSIGHT INTO THE WOMAN VETERAN COMMUNITY
Comprising nearly 2 million individuals nationwide, women veterans encounter a myriad of challenges within their community. Mental health issues, homelessness, and a prevailing sense of isolation among fellow women veterans are among the hurdles they face. Additionally, over 60% of women veteran’s report disabilities, while many grapple with reproductive health challenges and the effects of military sexual trauma experienced during their service. Despite these obstacles, women veterans exhibit remarkable resilience. They serve as esteemed pillars within their communities, excel as innovative business owners, and steadily expand their roles in political arenas. Remarkably, women constitute approximately 10% of veterans, boasting higher levels of education compared to their male peers and civilian women. Notably, they represent the fastest-growing segment of business owners in the United States, underscoring their unwavering strength and determination across diverse spheres.
